Over the last 3 months
- Worked with federal government to streamline reporting requirements for Chemical Environment Protection Act ensuring members were able to meet legislative requirements to report existence of hazardous chemicals in products in an efficient and effective manner. A much needed deadline extensions was achieved to ensure members could meet reporting requirements was also achieved.
Focus for the balance of 2013:
- Ensure new Anti-Spam regulations reflect retailers requirements to communicate with customers by grandfathering existing mailing list, among other changes, as part of final regulations
- New food labelling requirements reflect proposed changes to facilitate members including information on packages e.g. font size and positioning
- Guidelines for labelling tenderized beef reflect current science and ensure consumers are provided information to properly prepare product.
